What Our Residents Say.
Our residents inspire us to do more every day at Glenvale Villas. Here’s a few things they had to say about us, and how our Supported Living has helped change their lives for the better.
I’m so very pleased they (my family) found Glenvale Villas, I’ve found other residents friendly when we meet and I cannot speak highly enough about the caring, cheerful and efficient staff. I am very fortunate and grateful.

Knowing I could move into Glenvale Villas straight away was a huge relief to me and my family. I moved on the same day I was released from hospital, without having to worry about any assessments or waiting in a queue. Thank you so much Glenvale Villas.
I had seen several nursing homes before I found Glenvale Villas. All of them were depressing and made me feel very anxious about moving there. When I saw Glenvale Villas, I couldn’t believe that places like this weren’t around before. The lifestyle here is perfect, and I feel very safe and cared for.
Living at home was a constant worry. I knew that Hugh needed care but we were so scared they would separate us. After 65 years, staying together means everything. At Glenvale Villas, we can still live together, even though our care needs are different.

Having made the decision to move from Roma to Toowoomba as my health was starting to fail and I could no longer look after my garden, I decided on Glenvale Villas after inspecting many homes and villages as I was impressed by the friend approach of the staff. I have now resided at Glenvale Villas for seven months and have not regretted my decision. I really enjoy the lifestyle and all the staff are wonderful.

We read in the Toowoomba Chronical where Ian McFarlan M.P was opening the building of stage two of the Glenvale Villas. On going back to Roma (Where we lived) from Brisbane we decided to call in and have a look around, we went to the office where the clerk gave us some information to take home and peruse.
We took some time reading and looking at the plans, the year was 2009. We both thought Toowoomba would be a good town to retire to, good medical services and a nice town. Then in 2010 we came back to Toowoomba and made an appointment to see what was available at Glenvale Villas. After 3 and a half hours inspecting, with a very pleasant and helpful sales person, we decided on a double unit (93/94). We paid a deposit to hold the units, this was 19th May 2010.
We looked no further than Glenvale Villas as we felt it had everything we were looking for. We moved into out brand new units on the 30th August 2010. We are very happy here, still have our independence, with care when necessary and when needed.Entertainment is wonderful. Staff are considerate and helpful. Meals are all cooked on site and are tasty and very good. Management is excellent and most obliging.

At the age of 92, Maisie Brandrick had to make a decision as to where to spend her remaining years. Maisie found this task quite overwhelming as her home town of Dalby did not offer the accommodation she required, therefore Toowoomba was the place to be!
A search for aged care accommodation was begun by a daughter and a decision was made, Unit 1 at Glenvale Villas was to be her new home! Chosen for its covered flat walking areas, simply lovely gardens, their friendliness of staff and the hope that she would make some lovely friends and she has!
Maisie did not want to burden her family of 6 children, 16 grandchildren and 25 great great grandchildren, “They have their own live to live!” she would always say!
Born in Stanthorpe and raised on an orchard at Pozieres, the McMahon family later moved to Nangwee where Maisie worked in the family business, McMahons General Store.
She married Eric Brandrick, a local lad, after he had completed his years of service in World War 2. Children soon followed – 7 in all, 6 girls and 1 boy! Maisie raised their family at their farm Birubi, at Nangwee.
Time travelled on, which saw Eric and Maisie retire from the farm at Nangwee and they then settled into a busy retirement at their home in Spring Creek Drive in Dalby.
Seven years after the passing of her husband, Maisie has found her new home at Glenvale Villas where she is enjoying her new friendships, bingo, concerts, staff care and many visits from her ever expanding family!
After a recent stay in hospital when asked where she would now like to go, she replied HOME to her unit at Glenvale Villas.
Living at Glenvale Villas gives me a great feeling of security and I like the face that assistance is close by if I need it.
The staff and residents are very friendly and there is as much or as little as you want to do in the way of activities – there is always something going on for the residents to do.
Having always been an active gardener, I find the gardens are beautiful and always well tended.
Glenvale Villas is a peaceful, relaxing place to live.

My father was admitted to a High care nursing home on the Gold Coast after he had a minor stroke and other medical problems. He didn’t like this facility as he was confided to a bedroom, especially after he started to recover and wanted more freedom to move around.
He wanted to be independent and so the family looked around different places on the Gold Coast and Toowoomba, which could offer him the care he needed. It was a real eye opener doing the research and not many places were able to offer a unit with care, support and meals that he requires.
We visited Glenvale Villas and were impressed by the beautiful gardens that surround their units and community centres. We took up the offer for dad to do a Try Before You Buy in a unit for one week. Dad loved every aspect of Glenvale Villas and decided to buy a unit straight away.
The two dining rooms are of a high standard and so are the meals. Glenvale Villas have a roster of different activities and games and these are conducted in a friendly and professional manner. Dad loves living at Glenvale Villas and is well cared for with his medical need.
